The wool of these cute animals can differ substantially in the fineness and length of the fibre. From 19 Micron to 37 Micron, where 19 is called babyalpaca and is really extremely soft, almost like cashmere. The finer the hair, the warmer and lighter. Alpaka is a bit heavier than sheep wool, which makes it slightly drapey like silk.
